About Me

Hello to all and thanks for visiting my blog!  I am Wanda Quiggins, a 4th generation cattle producer in Kentucky, and I love sharing my thoughts and experiences in agriculture with you. My passion and heart is in livestock production so the majority of my posts will relate to beef cattle and meat goats and since my family is very involved in raising and exhibiting livestock on the state and national level I like to report on shows and feature the hard-working, dedicated youth in agriculture. I also like to write about my experience as a farmer, giving my perspective and facts concerning the industry and agriculture production. This is needed more and more today because there are too many people circulating misconceptions about the industry.

I am a true farm girl, raised on a small beef and tobacco operation in Kentucky. We raised Horned Herefords, hay, and burley tobacco. In those years if you had a farm in Kentucky you most likely raised tobacco too. I was a member of a very active 4-H club and enjoyed years of demonstrations, club variety shows, and specialty acts. I received a BS in Agriculture from Western Kentucky University, where I was involved with Block & Bridle and a member of the livestock judging team.

My husband is a retired high school agriculture teacher, my daughter is married and also a high school agriculture teacher, and my son raises beef cattle and club goats and also owns a livestock show supply business as well as a livestock clipping business. You can see that we are all very involved in agriculture and we stay busy.

I want to thank my readers for taking the time to read my posts! I'm flattered and encouraged to have readers from all over the world and I appreciate you all.
